“Time is our most precious treasure because it is limited. We can produce more wealth, but we cannot produce more time” Alexander the Great
Thought I’d share the eight forms of wealth from Robert Sharma’s book “The Wealth Money Can’t Buy”.
Mark yourself out of ten. No need to share with anyone. A little food for thought especially with a new year approaching.
Growth
Do you feel in the same place as last year? Have you learned and accomplished more? Are you stretching yourself?
Wellness
Are you eating, sleeping, exercising? How do you really feel?
family
Would you like to spend more time with a family member? Friends are family too, the family we choose.
Craft
Do you have hobbies? Is your work fulfilling?
money
Would you like more? But are you looking after what you have? Investing? Saving? Spending?
A little story
I’ll never forget the story of a young boy who wanted an ice cream. He made his choice, pleaded with his dad for the biggest scoop of raspberry ripple topped with fresh cream, and chocolate sprinkles. In comparison to the other kids his cone was huge. Nevertheless the other kids enjoyed their sweet manageable treats. A moment later the little boy could be heard wailing. Splat, the little boy’s ice cream was on the pavement. Interesting how we want to go to the next big thing before we’ve mastered how to look after and manage what we already have. This little story was told to me by “Susie Moore” and stays with me.
community
Are you part of yours?
Adventure
Are you seeing? Doing new things? New adventures, being open, creating new opportunities.
service
Are you giving, helping, supporting? Giving your time? Do you support a charity?
Lastly
Were you honest to yourself with your score? “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.” Mary Anne Radmacher. Truer words were never written.
Remember, be kind to yourself.
