‘friendships – for reasons, seasons and life’
Midlife gives us time to reflect on many aspects of our life especially who we choose to spend our time with. Does our time become more precious? Maybe we’re more conscious. Needless to say this got me thinking about the people in my life.
What’s true for me I’m sure is true for you too.
If we’re lucky enough to have special friendships, new, old and all those in-between, I believe value is added to our lives. I’m grateful to them all. Even when I look back and consider the not so friendly encounters, I learned something, more often than not about myself.
Safety in great friendships steadies me to my core. The friends who not only stand at my sides but in front and behind me never allowing me to fall. Even when my legs felt like giving way beneath me, knowing they’d be there is somewhat exceptional. I recently needed them. Everyone stepped up, took action, sorted and arranged. They said the hard stuff with my interests at heart.
It’s wonderful when we experience those serendipity moments and friendships are born. I’ve admired inspiring ladies from afar, when the distance closed the disappointment was none.
In friendships there is forgiveness. I’m less quick to judge. We all have things going on in our lives, good, bad or indifferent.
My friends are truly the family I’ve chosen. Is it the same for you?
